Year 3 spellings & times tables for test on 22nd March

Adding the prefixes bi- (meaning ‘two’ or ‘twice’) and re- (meaning ‘again’ or ‘back’).

bicycle, biplane, bisect, bilingual, biannual, reappear, redecorate, reapply, repay, rebuild.

Spellings from Year 3 Statutory Spellings – describe, disappear, early, earth, eight/eighth.

Children will also be tested on the 4 times table.

Homework was given out on Thursday 14th March and is due back on Monday 18th March. English – pages 96 & 97 (all challenges). Maths – pages 74 & 75 (all challenges).

National Curriculum times tables expectations for each year group:

Year 1 – count in multiples of 2, 5 and 10.  Recall and use all doubles to 10 and corresponding halves.

Year 2 – recall and use multiplication and division facts for the 2, 5 and 10 multiplication tables, including recognising odd and even numbers.

Year 3 – recall and use multiplication and division facts for the 3, 4 and 8 times tables.

Year 4 – recall and use multiplication and division facts for multiplication tables up to 12 x 12.

Year 5 & 6 – revision of all times tables and division facts up to 12 x 12.
