Year 3 had lots of fun learning about the stages of the rock cycle using chocolate.
First, we grated chocolate to represent weathering.
Then we made sedimentary rock. The pressure from our fingers forced the sediment together into a sold rock.
Next we made metamorphic rock. The heat and pressure of our hands replicated that of the Earths crust.
Finally, we made igneous rock. The heat (volcano) created lava (the melting rocks) which eventually cooled
to create igneous rock.
