In Early Years for the first two weeks of Spring Term we have been looking at the story of Little Red Riding Hood. The children have taken a great interest into the story, they loved to act it out in the Home Corner, which is now Grandma’s cottage.
Reception children took an interest in the Grandma, especially that she was ill and elderly. This got into a discussion about what we would do if someone is ill. The children came up with the ideas of chocolate truffles, vegetable soup (because it is healthy) and flowers to give to Grandma, because it would be a kind thing to do, and make her feel better.
Reception and Nursery all made the chocolate truffles, flowers and vegetables that they came up with.
